Chapters from their Love Story Miranda & David at Murthly Estate

Wedding design at Murthly Estate

From the very first conversation I had with Miranda and David, I knew this was going to be a special one. The love they have for each other came through immediately - two people who share ambition, passion, and a deep respect for each other's journey.

They've both worked incredibly hard to build the lives they have, and that dedication to quality and meaning ran through every part of their wedding vision.

Their aesthetic leaned towards a small number of beautiful, considered pieces over anything fast or trend-led. Organic, laid back and fun - but with a real sense of the commitment being made. Understated but beautiful.

The design concept:
A Scottish Castle Takeover

When I received their design questionnaire I became completely obsessed with finding a way to weave their story through the day. What kept coming back to me was their shared love of study and literature and from that, the concept of Chapters was born.

Each table became a moment. A chapter from their time together. Guests were seated not at a number but at a piece of Miranda and David's story. I set the couple to work identifying the chapters - the moments that defined them - and the result was a seating plan unlike anything I had designed before.

The seating plan itself was displayed outside the castle doors on a vintage dresser from our Hire Studio, with flowers designed by the brilliant Ange of Fauna Floral Folk - loose, organic and natural, as if they had always been growing there. A true castle takeover.

To bring the chapters concept to life at each place setting, we commissioned Hold Studio London to design beautiful hand-finished bookmarks - acting as both place name and favour. The menus were printed on handmade olive green paper with gold foiling, nodding to the organic, considered nature of the day.

The Ceremony
The Redwood Forest at Murthly Estate

When Miranda, David and I visited Murthly Estate together, we all stopped in the Redwood Forest. The trees were towering above us - it felt almost otherworldly.

Like somewhere you shouldn't quite be.

And that was where the idea for the ceremony design was born.

We designed the ceremony to feel like it was discovered rather than arranged. Nothing uniform or symmetrical. Chairs arranged in a natural wave, flowers dotted along the aisle and surrounding the couple as if growing straight from the earth. A welcome sign in natural linen at the entrance to the space.

A magical, almost forbidden feeling - as if the forest had always been theirs.

What Miranda said:

"Working with Allure Collective was single-handedly the best decision my husband and I made for our wedding. If you are even slightly unsure of how you will style your wedding - stop, and hire Allure.

Working with Alice from start to finish was a delight. The mood boards were so fun to work through and her ideas are truly inspired. Some of the most notable parts of our wedding were Alice's ideas and they reflected our style so fantastically.

Our wedding was fully DIY in an old castle, with various spaces being used - from a redwood forest to a 14th century banquet hall.

Alice made every single space look incredible.

Alice also organised all of the hirings and put everything together in the days before the wedding alongside Ramsay. They also took everything away afterwards, making the day before and after completely stress-free.

I cannot recommend Allure Collective enough."
